You're looking at 4 years of my life -- Every high poly mech I've ever created.

Over 3 million polygons total in this scene. It was a bit too much for my computer to render at the same time as I ran out of memory. Had to do it in 2 parts. >_<

Maurader, Awsome, Warhammer, Mad Cat, Vulture, Nova Cat, its a reinforced Company! No wonder your 'puter choked on this render. Its gorgeous! They look like actual physical models! With very big guns.

Definitely one of your greatest accomplishments of those years.
Don't think of this is your best work though, your skills are improving greatly and you have me and many others to tell you so;).

A masterpiece yes, but your best is yet to come. Keep at it bro.

I only just noticed: The Guillotine kinda got the short end of the stick, it's practically hidden behind the big ol' Kodiak there. Maybe something to keep in mind for the 2010 group photo? :D

Sure thing. I just tucked it away in the back because I didn't like the model back then. That's the reason I rebuilt the model almost entirely later on.

Hey dude - been a Mech fan for nigh-on 13 years now (maybe longer - I'm left-brained so I have no clue on how to measure time)

Anyways, awesome work! If you're open to suggestions, and you're looking to render interesting Mechs - I was playing abandonware the other say and noticed the Phoenix Hawk... hmmm?

I haven't made any lights or mediums. :(

I find the heavy class to be most interesting. I have been planning on making an Apollo for a long time so that will most likely be my first medium. As to lights, couldn't say...

Dude... just dude....
Did you use 3ds Max, or Maya for all this, or what? Can I put in a request?

By the way, good job on keeping it "classic!" :)

Models were done with Wings 3d and the render was in 3ds max. I don't take requests but I' always open for suggestions. ;)

Well, as far as suggestions go... I highly suggest a King Crab in the future... or an Annihilator... :)
So what is Wings 3d? How much does it cost, and how does the modeling system work? Is it compatible with 3ds Max 7?

King Crab has been on my to do list for a long time. I may actually do it soon.

As to wings, it's completely free. Modeling with wings is very easy and very fast. Modeling with it isn't that much different from max, other than it doesn't use modifiers and almost all of the modeling tools are accessible through a dynamic right click menu. It supports a wide variety of export and import formats.

Yea this is way sick, I am very impressed I used to render in mechs in the old days when I was running a clan for Mechwarrior 4 vengeance. I woulda begged you to use these models back then. Excellent work...

A little bit of money for a joystick, and then spend some time figuring out how to get Mechwarriors 2 Mercenaries to run correctly with my system. Haven't picked up any of the new ones, but they do look goooood.

Nice work here. Just one issue: the heights. How come the Urbanmech stands higher than the Summoner?

There is no Urban mech in the picture. I think you meant the Flashman, which is a 75 ton heavy mech.
