Firefly. A 30t Inner sphere battlemech. Third attempt at texturing. Kinda rushed the textures.
How I did it:
1. Made a low polygon model. (~1600 polygons)
2. Rendered every piece from all angles.
4. UV mapped the model.
5. Made textures for the model using the rendered images.
How long it took:
Don't remember exactly. Something like 2-3 weeks.

Wings 3d - Models
Blender - Renders and UV mapping
Photoshop - Textures
Why:
This model is to be used in a mod for Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. The mod in question is made by
MekTek. This mech will be featured in the last edition of the mod.
Be informed that the game engine this model is for is about 5 years old and was outdated even back when it was first used in Mechwarrior 4. That is why it doesn't use any advanced features such as bump mapping etc.
The only feature the textures have is a working alpha channel so that different camo textures can be applied on the mesh.
