Linebacker. A 65t Clan Omnimech. My second attempt at texturing.
How I did it:
1. Made a low polygon model. (~2200 polygons) 2. Rendered every piece from all angles. 4. UV mapped the model. 5. Made textures for the model using the rendered images.
How long it took:
One and a half weeks from start to finish.
Tools used:
Wings 3d - Models Blender - Renders and UV mapping Photoshop - Textures
Why:
This model is to be used in a mod for Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. The mod in question is made by MekTek. This mech will be featured in the last edition of the mod.
Be informed that the game engine this model is for is about 5 years old and was outdated even back when it was first used in Mechwarrior 4. That is why it doesn't use any advanced features such as bump mapping etc.
The only feature the textures have is a working alpha channel so that different camo textures can be applied on the mesh.
this is the best looking linebacker i've seen yet. the original drawings of this particular machine never appealed to me, but your variant looks significantly stronger and better balanced. now if only we could change the name from a FOOTBALL term... -slaps head-
Awesome work, I saw it before. I have NO CLUE why I didnt fave it...
Are you going to do a mech that has a b/w color scheme Lawgiver (Referee) mech?
